Born out of a deep love of Assam and it culture and history, Kharikajai's first fashion line was a celebration of Assam's folklore and oral traditions. 3 prints were developed for the collection based on three very distinct tales of Assam. The first was the story of Tejimola, a young girl who shows great courage in the face of adversity. The second print talks about the eternal tale of the rivalry of the monkey and the fox (Bandor aru Xiyal). The last print was developed, based on a fairly lesser known tale of two lovers - Kazi and Rwanga - about how the forest of Kaziranga came about.
